Resin Figurine Care: Seven FAQs on Handling, Display and Cleaning
This guide answers seven common questions about handling, displaying and cleaning resin figurines.
Caring for your new resin figurine does not have to involve technical jargon. Here, we focus on practical questions about everyday care.
These answers apply only to finished Linxi photopolymer resin figurines. Visit the official Linxi website to learn more about our custom figurines:

1. Can I wash a resin figurine with water or use wet wipes?
We have not confirmed that this product can be washed with water or wiped with a damp cloth or wet wipes. Soaking is not recommended either. Please do not try these methods on your own.
The term “photopolymer resin” alone does not tell you whether the surface is water-resistant. Cleaning methods used for ordinary plastics should not automatically be applied to this product.
2. Can I clean a resin figurine with alcohol or dishwashing liquid?
Neither has been confirmed suitable, so please do not try them on your own. This does not mean that cleaning products will necessarily damage the figurine; it means we cannot currently confirm that they are safe to use.
If liquid has already come into contact with the figurine, note what it was, which areas it touched and any changes to the surface, then contact us for guidance. Do not apply other cleaning products on top of it. These details will help you explain the situation when you contact us.
3. What if my figurine is dusty? Can I use a soft brush, dry cloth or air blower?
First assess the dust or stain, then confirm a suitable method before attempting to remove it. The manufacturer has not confirmed whether a soft brush, dry cloth or air blower is suitable for this figurine. Being soft and dry does not automatically make a cleaning tool safe for its surface.
Focus on preventing dust buildup first: move the figurine to a safe place before cleaning the table. If it is already dusty, take photos to document its condition. Check whether you are seeing loose dust, stubborn stains, or signs of peeling, stickiness or loose parts. This will help determine how to proceed.
4. How should I pick up a custom figurine without putting pressure on delicate parts?
Support the figurine’s weight from underneath with one hand, and use the other to steady a thick, sturdy area. Never lift it by delicate parts such as ears, fingers, strands of hair or a tail.
Clear the destination and the route before picking up the figurine. If the base and body are detached or loose, do not lift the entire figurine by supporting only the base. Do not pull on parts to test how firmly they are attached. If you cannot identify a safe support point, take photos and ask us first. When passing the figurine to someone else, set it down securely before they pick it up.
5. Will my figurine discolor if I display it near a window?
Avoid locations exposed to direct sunlight wherever possible. Our manufacturing partner, SeaMe, specifies storage away from light. Even a windowsill that is shaded in the morning may receive direct sun in the afternoon.
No aging tests are currently available for this figurine, so we cannot guarantee that it will not discolor near a window. No safe distance from a window or standard indoor storage lifespan has been established. There is therefore no fixed rule such as “it is safe if kept a certain number of centimeters from the window.”
6. Can I display my figurine near a heater or in a bathroom?
The manufacturer specifies a location that is well ventilated, dry, at a moderate temperature and protected from light. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct heated airflow, damp conditions, mist or splashing water. Areas beside heaters and in bathrooms commonly fall into these categories.
Choose a stable spot where the figurine is easy to pick up and put down. Consider whether opening a door, turning book pages or pulling on cables could knock it over. A suitable temperature range has not been specified, so a surface that feels “not too hot” to the touch should not be assumed safe for long-term display.
7. How should I store my figurine? Can I put it straight back in its original box?
Inspect the packaging before reusing it: check the outer box and internal inserts for damage or deformation. Make sure they can support the figurine securely without pressing on delicate parts. The original packaging is designed to protect the dimensions of a new, finished product; used packaging may not be suitable for reuse.
Do not secure the figurine by tightly gripping its ears, fingers or hair between packing materials. If the lid will not close, do not force it. If an insert is missing or you are unsure which way the figurine should fit, take photos of both the figurine and the packaging and ask us for guidance first.
For long-term storage, follow the original manufacturer’s requirements. No information currently confirms whether prolonged contact with the inserts or sealed storage is safe, so shipping packaging should not automatically be used as a long-term storage solution.
